BELTON- There will be a changing of the guard when the UMHB men’s soccer team takes the field for its season-opening scrimmage against Hill College on August 17 in Belton. For the last 16 years, Brad Bankhead led the charge as the program’s head coach. But in May, it was announced that Bankhead would be moving to a new position within the administration as the associate athletic director, while longtime assistant Ben Allen was promoted into his first head coaching position.

BELTON- Talk to Price Peden for five minutes, and it’s easy to see why he is revered by his teammates within the UMHB men’s soccer program. Why former UMHB head soccer coach Brad Bankhead described the forward as an “exact representation” of the ideal student-athlete at UMHB. Why the American Southwest Conference selected Peden as the recipient of the inaugural Man of the Year just three weeks ago, and the conference’s Community Service Athlete of the Year prior to that.

BELTON- The UMHB soccer program enters the 2022 season with momentum, coming off a stellar showing last fall that saw the Cru glide through the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record in ASC play. Led by first-year head coach Ben Allen this season, UMHB’s roster will feature plenty of new faces, as Allen and former head coach Brad Bankhead (now serving as UMHB’s Associate Athletic Director) recruited a number of talented Class of 2022 high schoolers to round out the 2022 roster. That includes two stars from the reigning UIL 6A state champions, Lake Travis High School.

BELTON- The UMHB men’s and women’s soccer teams have plenty to look forward to in the 2022 season, including each of their respective schedules, which were released on Wednesday afternoon. Highlighted by strong non-conference matches featuring a mix of NAIA and D-III opponents, both teams will be challenged early and often. The Crusaders are looking to replicate enormous success experienced during the 2021 campaigns.

ABILENE, Texas- Chandler Jackson continues to rise to the occasion in postseason play.
After scoring UMHB’s lone goal in Tuesday’s ASC tournament quarterfinal win over Belhaven, the senior defender came up with another key goal in Friday night’s semi final. Once again, it was UMHB’s only goal of the match. And just like Tuesday, the Crusaders earned the win.

UMHB men’s soccer clinches ASC regular season title, UMHB women’s soccer falls to Hardin-Simmons
BELTON, Texas- After being shutout 4-0 by Hardin-Simmons in its last contest against the Cowboys, the UMHB men’s soccer team returned the favor Saturday night, scoring twice in the first half to notch a 3-0 shutout.
