Each Monday, we take a look back on the way the week unfolded for several UMHB teams, as the spring sports get underway. So here is a quick look at how each team in action this week fared. Combined, the Cru was 9-7 on the week.
There was plenty that occurred this past weekend in UMHB athletics as baseball, softball, basketball, tennis all competed, and picked up victories early in the spring. We will recap it all for you in this quick weekend review. As winter turns to spring, several of UMHB’s athletic programs have returned to action, or in the case of the nationally ranked basketball teams, are in the homestretch of their schedules, eyeing the postseason.
BELTON- The UMHB women’s tennis battled a D-I opponent in UT-Rio Grande Valley on Saturday afternoon, beginning the spring season for the Crusaders.
On its home courts, the Cru battled hard, though UTRGV took a 9-0 victory. UMHB returns to action on Feb. 12, facing Trinity (TX) in San Antonio.
True To The Cru’s Russell Marwitz captured all of the action, as the Crusaders returned to action for the first time since Oct. 2, 2021.
