PREVIEW | UMHB Baseball looks to turn the page and make a run in the ASC Tournament

MARSHALL, Texas —- It is a “second season”, UMHB head coach Mike Stawski says. The conference tournament does not know the league’s regular season home run leader, or which pitching staff boasts the top season-long ERA. The seeding of the teams is notable and based on conference regular season results, but even the No. 1 seed starts in a 0-0 game just the same.

BELTON — Alex Hill says he didn’t know what to expect when he toed the rubber for his first start of 2026. The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps lineup—which featured five hitters who hit above .300 in 2025—was undoubtedly the best he had ever faced, stacked with veteran bats whose Game 1 performance in the season-opening series the day before yielded 11 runs.

NCAA Tournament Preview: UMHB men’s basketball faces UW-Stevens Point in Friday’s opening round

It is NCAA Tournament time for UMHB men’s basketball, who is back in the 64-team field for the first time since the 2022-23 season. The Cru begins its run on Friday in the upper Midwest, playing at the Gustavus Adolphus Regional about 70 miles southwest of Minneapolis. It marks the first time since the 2008 tournament appearance that the Crusaders will play their first round game outside of Texas, as their previous six first round games all came in Belton.
