UMHB men’s basketball wins in home opener over Howard Payne, 87-65
BELTON- Two days after upsetting Texas State in San Marcos, the UMHB men’s basketball team returned to the familiar confines of the Mayborn Campus Center. And in the home opener, the Crusaders put on a show, complete with dunks, fast-break layups, and a number of stellar plays on the defensive end, as they moved to 2-2 in ASC play with an 85-67 victory over Howard Payne.

BELTON- Ranked No. 15 in the nation, the UMHB women’s basketball team had been ready to play on its home court. The Crusaders fared quite well with six straight road contests to start the year, as the season’s first month took them from Atlanta to Kerrville to east Texas. But back in the familiar setting of the Mayborn Campus Center on Thursday night, UMHB put on a show, handing Howard Payne its sixth straight loss in an 88-51 victory.
