MARSHALL, Texas- A day that began with one of the UMHB baseball team’s most lopsided losses of the season ended in a run-rule victory for the Cru, simultaneously breaking the program record for postseason wins.
CLEVELAND, Miss.-Held to just three hits, offense was hard to come by for the UMHB softball team on Saturday morning. And in an elimination game setting, that proved to be a hurdle, as Hardin-Simmons scored all four of its runs in the final three innings, en route to a 4-2 victory.
CLEVELAND, Miss.- The UMHB softball team encountered rain, wind, and consecutive one-run games, but the Crusaders have lived to fight another day at the ASC Tournament. UMHB, the nation’s No. 9 team, won its opening round game over McMurry early Friday before dropping the following contest in walk-off fashion to No. 8 ETBU.
MARSHALL, Texas- It took a late rally, but the UMHB baseball team, for the second consecutive year, has a victory under its belt at the ASC Tournament.
On Friday afternoon, the Crusaders took down McMurry, a team that had beaten UMHB twice in February, by a score of 11-7. UMHB now advances into Saturday’s tournament semifinal, with the winner earning a spot in the ASC’s Blue Bracket championship.
BELTON- Hours before UMHB tipped off in the ASC title game, head coach Clif Carroll sat inside the empty arena, looking up at the banners of past championship teams. He knew the last time the Crusaders had claimed a conference championship: 2010. He also knew that could be changed in just a few hours.
