Heading into his senior year with The Cru, UMHB linebacker Johnny Smith-Rider has been nominated for the prestigious Campbell Trophy. The annual honor is regarded as college football’s top scholar-athlete award, with three areas of criteria being evaluated; academics, community service, and on-field performance.
The votes have been counted, and it is time to introduce True To The Cru’s Players of the Week presented by our gold sponsor, Duke Realty, for the week spanning from Nov. 2 to Nov. 8.
BELTON- After an incredible week in UMHB athletics, it is now time to present True To The Cru’s Players of the Week, presented by our gold sponsor, Duke Realty.
BELTON- Before Saturday night’s game against Southwestern even got underway, there were loud cheers from the crowd. Pete Fredenburg, the architect of the nationally-dominant UMHB football program, was recognized for his legendary role in the program’s history, with the field named “Fredenburg Field” in his honor.
WHITEWATER, Wis.- With just over three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the UMHB offense set up from the Wisconsin-Whitewater one-yard line. The UW-Whitewater faithful had been quiet for much of the fourth quarter, and it was easy to see why. The Crusaders of UMHB had backed up their ranking as the top team in the land, and were knocking on the door to a 10-point lead, already up 24-21 against the No. 6 team in the country.
