PHOTO GALLERY: UMHB FOOTBALL BRINGS BACK THE D3 CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY

BELTON, Texas- The UMHB football team made the trip back to Belton on Saturday afternoon, after claiming the Stagg Bowl title in a 57-24 victory over top-ranked North Central.

True To The Cru photographer Luke Zayas was on-site for the event, capturing all the action as the Crusaders returned home with the national championship trophy in hand.

CANTON, Ohio- Facing No. 1 North Central, with its second national championship in three years on the line, UMHB delivered in a dominant performance on Friday night, in-line with the consistency evident throughout the season, and the poise that has been foundational in the program’s success.

Updates from the 2021 Stagg Bowl: UMHB vs. North Central

CANTON, Ohio- In the 2021 Stagg Bowl, the nation’s No.1 and No. 2 teams are set to battle at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, as Mary Hardin-Baylor (14-0) takes on North Central (13-0). The Crusaders won the 2018 national title, while the Cardinals claimed a victory in the 2019 Stagg Bowl. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. CST, and can be seen on ESPNU or heard on 93.9 FM or 1330 AM. Follow for updates throughout the contest.

Back in contention: UMHB ready for Friday’s Stagg Bowl against North Central

BELTON, Texas- UMHB head football coach Pete Fredenburg has no qualms about his team’s preparation. Not when the Stagg Bowl, D-III football’s national championship game, is set for Friday. Not when multiple players arrive at the team facility to review film before the sun has risen on a Monday morning, just over 24 hours after arriving home from its 24-7 semifinal win at Wisconsin-Whitewater.

UMHB football reaches Stagg Bowl in 24-7 semifinal win at Wisconsin-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis.- The receivers won their routes, quarterback Kyle King did not cease in his passing accuracy, and the defense was locked in for all 60 minutes. So UMHB defied the odds, braved the frigid temperatures, and came out of Wisconsin with a 24-7 victory over Wisconsin-Whitewater in the D-III semifinals, clinching a spot in the 2021 Stagg Bowl.
