Both the UMHB men’s and women’s soccer teams began their 2023 regular seasons outside of Texas. And they both returned back home to Belton with a pair of quality results in tow.

After rolling to the American Southwest Conference title a year ago, with successive 5-1 and 6-0 victories in the ASC Tournament, the UMHB men’s soccer team begins 2023 with a not-so-unusual target on their backs.
Belton, Tx-With its season opener 10 days away, the UMHB men’s soccer team battled Angelina College in an exhibition match on Monday night. The contest ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Crusaders gaining beneficial game experience before heading to Arkansas for a duel against Rhodes on Sept. 1. UMHB has been picked to win the ASC in the league’s preseason poll, which was released Wednesday.

BELTON- The UMHB men’s soccer program announced the addition of Fernando Lisboa as assistant coach on Wednesday, filling the void on the coaching staff left behind by UMHB alum Javier Zaragoza, who stepped down after one season with the Cru.
Coming off its appearance in the NCAA Tournament a year ago, UMHB men’s soccer released its 2023 schedule, highlighted by a home match against St. Thomas (TX), who was ranked No. 15 in the nation last fall.
BELTON-The season has ended for the UMHB men’s and women’s soccer teams, but the awards keep rolling in.
There was no lack of UMHB representation on the All-Region teams released by the United Soccer Coaches on Wednesday, as a total of seven Crusaders, along with a coaching staff, were featured with the Region 10 honorees.
