BELTON, Texas- Already 2-0 on the season, the UMHB JV football team played its first game under the lights of Crusader Stadium on Monday night, competing in an intrasquad scrimmage. The White team defeated the Purple team 26-15, taking advantage of multiple penalties.
A pick six from freshman safety La’Damian Bailey sealed the win for the White, one of at least three interceptions for the team.
The Purple team got on the board after returning a blocked PAT for two points, before adding two additional touchdowns. But it was the White who mounted an early lead, finding the end zone twice in the opening quarter, taking advantage of two early turnovers.
