BELTON, Texas- The UMHB JV football team was in action on Monday night, shaking off a somewhat slow start to earn a dominant 48-0 victory over DFW Prep. The Crusaders moved to 3-0 on the season, having also defeated Southwestern and Hardin-Simmons on the road.

The UMHB JV football team hosted its first opponent of the season at Crusader Stadium on Monday night, defeating DFW Prep 48-0. Just seconds until the game gets underway as kicker Garrett Stiles (No.44) prepares to kickoff QB Colby Bailey flashes his dual-threat ability, completing several passes and adding a couple of significant gains on the ground LB Kalan Malandrakis with a hard hit on the DFW receiver, taking him down in the backfield. The UMHB pass rush was dominant throughout the course of the contest, getting into the backfield on a high number of plays. LB Kale Shaw did everything he could to bring the DFW ballcarrier to the ground Safety Braden Gunn sprints upfield with the ball RB Isaiah Salazar dodges a defender, moving upfield for positive yardage as he gets several key blocks QB Caleb Freeman runs the offense RB Wade Harper powers upfield behind a strong offensive line, DFW struggles to bring him to the ground WR Grose Kiel makes a leaping catch, securing the pass as his foot hits the turf. Safety La’Damian Bailey lays out to make the tackle, coming from his safety spot to bring down the ballcarrier Linebacker Laelan Reyes drives through the ballcarrier as he forces DFW to punt. The team meets at midfield postgame, as the coaching staff offers valuable insight. The Cru next faces Hardin-Simmons on Oct. 11 in Belton. UMHB is now 3-0 on the year.
