BELTON, Texas- On its first day of official practice, the UMHB men’s basketball team was announced as the nation’s No. 12 team in’s Preseason Top 25 Poll.

UMHB tallied 280 points, just two points behind No. 11 Tufts. The Crusaders are also the only ASC program to open the season ranked, as well as the only team from Texas.

The Cru is set to open the year against Southwestern in Belton on Nov. 9. At the Classic, UMHB will face Pacific Lutheran, who tallied 21 points in the preseason poll, on Dec. 29. The following evening, the Crusaders play Saint Mary’s (Minn.), who accumulated nine points in the poll.
