BELTON-UMHB backed up its No. 1 ranking on Saturday night, defeating No. 11 Muhlenberg in dominant fashion, with a 62-13 final score. The Cru tallied 674 yards of total offense, scoring on every possession except for one over the course of the game’s first three quarters. 

True To The Cru was on site at Crusader Stadium, covering the season opener from start to finish with a team of writers, photographers and videographers. BELTON, Texas- For just the second time during this regular season, the UMHB football team found itself trailing in a contest, as Howard Payne tallied touchdowns on its first two drives to go up 14-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Breezion Spiller joins True To The Cru’s Riley Zayas for another edition of “Catching up with the Commits”. Spiller transfers to UMHB after spending the 2020 season at Tarleton State and stepping away from football for a short time in the years that followed. He talks about his goals for his time in Belton, and his path to this point.
