Kaitlyn Kollmorgen is fouled and converts on both free-throw attempts. Kollmorgen finished with a team-high `10 points, shooting 4-for-4 from the line. Cheyanne Bonilla connects on a three-point attempt, her first of two threes in the game. Bonila tallied eight points. Ashley Faux with a three-pointer from the corner! Faux was 2-for-5 from behind the arc, scoring a total of 10 points. Phenomenal assist from Kasey Jo Hinton, as Kollmorgen scores two of UMHB’s 24 points in the paint. Excellent drive to lane from Olivia Champion, who gets the layup to go. Champion tallied five points in the contest. Champion connects from midrange after a good pass from Bethany McLeod. McLeod had four assists.
It is NCAA Tournament time for UMHB men’s basketball, who is back in the 64-team field for the first time since the 2022-23 season. The Cru begins its run on Friday in the upper Midwest, playing at the Gustavus Adolphus Regional about 70 miles southwest of Minneapolis. It marks the first time since the 2008 tournament appearance that the Crusaders will play their first round game outside of Texas, as their previous six first round games all came in Belton.

The UMHB senior guard is entering the final regular season game of her collegiate career in Saturday’s home duel with ETBU, but her involvement in basketball, a sport she has played since age five, is far from over.
xas- The UMHB secondary added a transfer in Deryn Taylor on Wednesday, but lost a major contributor Friday afternoon, as defensive back Drake Johnson announced his decision to enter his name into the transfer portal.
