Three Crusaders named to All-ASC Volleyball Teams

RICHARDSON- Two days prior to its ASC Tournament opener, the UMHB volleyball team had reason to celebrate. The Crusaders placed three onto the All-ASC teams on Wednesday afternoon, in outside hitters Hannah Frasca, Kaylie Vasil, and Katie Warden

Frasca, a junior, earned all-conference honors for the third straight season as a first-team honoree. She ranked seventh in the league during the regular season in points, with 282.5, and tallied 254 kills, also the seventh-best mark in the ASC. She leads the Cru in points, kills, and attempts, having posted an impressive number of 12 double-doubles in 21 matches. 

In her first fall with the program, Vasil had a remarkable season, landing on the ASC’s Second Team. A transfer from McMurry, Vasil led the team in sets played (91), and recorded 252 kills. She had a total of 276.0 points as well, honored by the ASC for the third time in her career. She was an All-Division honoree (when the ASC was split into two divisions) in both 2020-21, and 2021. 

Warden had an exceptional freshman season, playing in the second-most sets (90). She tallied 221 kills and 241.5 points, with a hitting percentage of .221. The Crawford, Texas native contributed defensively as well, with 53 digs and 37 blocks. 

UMHB’s ASC Tournament run begins Friday night in Richardson. The tournament’s No. 2 seed, UMHB plays the winner of the first-round matchup between ETBU and McMurry at 7:30 p.m.
