BELTON-For Cameron Talburt, UMHB did not enter the recruiting picture until late in his sophomore season at Eastern Oklahoma State College.
But once he connected with UMHB head coach Mike Stawski and the Crusader coaching staff, he quickly knew that he had found the right fit in Belton. An outfielder who hit .280 in 41 games this past spring, Talburt made a visit to UMHB following the season and committed soon after, officially announcing his commitment on June 3.Â
True To The Cru’s Riley Zayas spoke with Talburt recently about his decision to join The Cru, and his junior college career up to this point. His journey to this point has been full of highs and lows, but Talburt has emerged through it all with an exceptional sense of determination and the goal to help UMHB “win some championships” over his final two collegiate seasons.
