PODCAST: UMHB Baseball heads into the ASC Tournament (featuring conversations with Mike Stawski and Kyle Shipp)

The postseason has arrived for UMHB baseball, who enters this weekend’s ASC Tournament as the No. 3 seed with a 24-15 overall record and a 14-10 mark in ASC play. The Cru is back in the tournament for the third time under head coach Mike Stawski, and heads to Marshall having won back-to-back weekend series over Ozarks and Sul Ross State.

On today’s episode of the True To The Cru Podcast, Riley Zayas is joined by head coach Mike Stawski and cruathletics.com play-by-play broadcaster Kyle Shipp to preview the ASC Tournament and the season so far for The Cru. With plenty of analysis and insight, these are two in-depth conversations discussing everything from the field dimensions at Woods Field to the consistency of UMHB’s pitching staff and The Cru’s postseason approach. Give it a listen!

UMHB opens ASC Tournament play at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday (weather pushed the start time back two hours), facing No. 6 seed Hardin-Simmons. Watch the action live on the ETBU Sports Net, with coverage beginning at 12:50 p.m. CT Thursday morning. Live stats can be found at goetbutigers.com.

If The Cru beats Hardin-Simmons, a matchup at 11:00 a.m. on Friday against No. 2 seed UT-Dallas awaits. With a loss to HSU, UMHB would turn around and play at 7:00 p.m. Thursday against the loser of Concordia and McMurry. The full bracket is available here
