Vote Now For True To The Cru’s Football Players of the Year

After capturing a 57-24 Stagg Bowl win over North Central on Dec. 17, the UMHB football team wrapped up its spectacular season, finishing with a 15-0 mark.

The season’s success was undoubtedly made possible by contributions from the entire roster, and a few in particular stood out as especially notable. A number of these players are in the running for True To The Cru’s Players of the Year awards, which are decided by votes from both the general public and the local media.

BELTON, Texas- In the final game of the 2021 season, the UMHB football team pulled off a Stagg Bowl victory, defeating North Central 57-24 behind a number of notable performances.

It is now time to recognize a few of those performances, in True To The Cru’s voting for Players of the Week, presented by the Crusader Football Alumni Association.

Voting for True To The Cru’s Special Teams Player of the Week is now open

When it comes to special teams, UMHB clearly had the better unit statistically when the Cru defeated Southwestern 52-7 on Saturday. The Crusaders averaged 14 more yards per punt than the Pirates, made the only field goal of the game, had two more punts downed inside the 20 than their opponents, and on average, returned kickoffs eight yards further than Southwestern.
