Before getting into the winners of our first-ever Player of the Year awards, it is important to note that each of these candidates was deserving of the honor, and that we have a high level of respect for each of them. It takes an entire team to win games as the Crusaders did this past season, and each and every one of them played a role in that success.
After a successful year that saw both programs rise to new heights, it is time to decide True To The Cru’s Players of the Year. The honors will be decided by both the fans and local media, with the fans making up 75 percent of the vote, and the media deciding 25 percent of the vote.
BELTON, Texas- A slow start offensively gave way to a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback for the UMHB women’s basketball team on Thursday night, as the Cru managed to defeat Sul Ross State 69-63 in Belton.
ABILENE, Texas- Anchored by a dominant third quarter, the UMHB women’s basketball team bounced back from Thursday’s frustrating loss to Hardin-Simmons, defeating McMurry 70-49 on Saturday afternoon.
ABILENE, Texas- A rough day from the free throw line and a challenging road atmosphere proved to be just too much for the UMHB women’s basketball team, as the Cru fell to Hardin-Simmons, 68-55, on Thursday night.
