Top 25 win! UMHB baseball’s late surge defeats No. 24 Southwestern, 8-6, on the road

GEORGETOWN, Texas- A week ago, it took a Kaden deBerardinis double to lift the UMHB baseball team to a dramatic 3-2 walk-off victory over Southwestern in Belton. On Tuesday night, it took a similar piece of timely hitting from Tyler Betts, this time at Southwestern’s home field, in the top of the ninth, as the Cru completed a season sweep of the No. 24-ranked Pirates, 8-6.

BELTON- Before Saturday night’s game against Southwestern even got underway, there were loud cheers from the crowd. Pete Fredenburg, the architect of the nationally-dominant UMHB football program, was recognized for his legendary role in the program’s history, with the field named “Fredenburg Field” in his honor.
