MITAS COMES THROUGH: In pivotal moments, the freshman answered the call at the NCAA Men’s Golf Tournament

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.-Parker Mitas stared down the hole. In what could be defined as the biggest tournament of his young collegiate career, the freshman’s bid to reach round three at the NCAA tournament came down to a single playoff hole against Gustavus Adolphus’ Jacob Pederson. And he proved that his remarkable poise was very much a strength, coming up clutch, as the last player on UMHB’s five-man team with an opportunity to advance to Thursday’s action. 

Dramatic sudden-death playoff earns Baucum the individual title, UMHB men’s golf wins second straight ASC championship

GRANBURY, Texas- It did not seem like the race for the ASC men’s golf individual title could get any closer as the back nine of Sunday’s round three approached. And then it did. UMHB’s Andrew Baucum and Concordia’s Ben Constancio were tied through 18 holes, forcing a sudden-death playoff between the tournament’s two leaders. It took just one hole to decide the champion, as Baucum recorded a par to defeat Constancio, and claim his first ASC individual crown. 

Kaden Treybig leaves notable mark on UMHB men’s golf

GRANBURY, Texas- For the majority of the UMHB men’s golf team, Tuesday’s victory at the ASC preview marked the midpoint of the 2021-22 season. But for senior Kaden Treybig, the tournament had a slightly different feel to it. 

After all, Treybig was not getting ready to cap off his fall season when he teed off Tuesday morning. He was preparing to begin the final round of his collegiate career.
