Monday was a day of anticipation for the men’s and women’s soccer teams of UMHB.
Selection Monday, as it’s known, was a little less stressful for the Crusaders, as both teams had already clinched spots in the national tournament with ASC championship wins on Saturday. But regardless, UMHB’s teams did not know where or when or who they would face.

AUSTIN, Texas- Last Saturday afternoon, the UMHB men’s soccer dropped its regular season finale to Concordia, 5-1, and in the process, the streak of 18 straight ASC matches without a loss was snapped as well.

ROUND ROCK- In the regular season finales on Saturday afternoon, it was a split result for the UMHB men’s and women’s soccer teams against Concordia (TX). The women captured the top seed in the ASC Tournament with a 3-1 victory, capping off an 8-0-1 season in conference play, while the men dropped their first ASC match of the year, falling 5-1.

The same young standout who is currently in a four-way tie for the team lead in goals, with five, was playing in Oman just eight weeks ago. He has only lived in the United States for three and a half years, having previously been born in Japan, and raised in Singapore.

BELTON- It was a historic night at the Cru Soccer Field on Saturday evening.
There is always emotion surrounding the annual duels between UMHB and Hardin-Simmons on both the men’s and women’s sides, but Saturday’s matches felt different.
With three matches left, UMHB men’s soccer holding firm in first place in the ASC
BELTON- 572 days. 16 conference matches. And not a single loss.
The UMHB men’s soccer team scored twice in the second half of Saturday’s match at Ozarks, pulling out a 3-1 victory, and the success continued for the Crusaders, who have gone a year and a half without a loss in the ASC play.
