About the Cru: UMHB, on a nine-game win streak, holds sole possession of first place in the ASC standings. Starting quickly on the offensive end has been critical to the Cru’s recent success, scoring 17 or more first-quarter points in each of the last four games. UMHB put together its highest-scoring performance of the year in Thursday’s 92-81 win over Sul Ross State, as Arieona Rosborough tallied 26 points. While only a freshman, Rosborough has established herself as a leader on this team, leading the Cru in points (12.3/game), assists (38) and steals (23). The Cru leads the conference in scoring offense, at 73.7 points per game, but is also sixth in points allowed per game (64.3).

About the Lady Jackets: Though Howard Payne has struggled on both ends of the floor this season, the Lady Jackets’ inability to create stops on the defensive end has hurt their chances late in games. Opponents are shooting 33.2 percent from beyond the arc against HPU, the highest percentage in the ASC, as the Lady Jackets have allowed 72.7 points per game. But they do lead the conference in one category, defensive rebounds, at 30.3 per game, meaning that the shooting opportunities will be there for UMHB, but perhaps not the offensive rebounding chances. HPU is coming off a 71-57 loss at Concordia (TX) Thursday night.
