Ty Prince voted to NABC Reese’s D-III All-Star Game in Fort Wayne

Ty Prince’s collegiate career will be extended for one more game. 

The senior forward for the UMHB men’s basketball team, coming off a 33-point effort in the Round of 16 NCAA Tournament loss to Christopher Newport, was selected to play in the NABC’s Reese’s D-III All-Star Game in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT. The news came out Monday morning in a release from the NABC. 

Prince joins UT-Dallas’ Kyle Poerschke in representing the American Southwest Conference in this year’s all-star game. He will play on the team coached by famed Calvin head coach Kevin Vande Streek. 

The native of Jacksonville, Texas averaged 17.7 points, 3.7 assists, and 6.5 rebounds per game in his third season with the Cru, starting 29 games. He finished his time with the purple and gold having played in 70 career games, scored 1,220 career points, and third all-time in program history in career assists (308). 

Prince claimed First Team All-ASC honors this past February, as he finished the regular season ranked in the Top 10 in the league in field goals made, rebounds per game, assists per game, and blocks per game. In the 2021-22 season, He also secured a spot on the All-ASC First Team last season, in addition to receiving All-Region 10 honors from both the NABC and D3hoops.com.
