BELTON-Jordan Wilson is the latest addition to the UMHB football coaching staff heading into the 2023 season, per an announcement from Wilson himself on Twitter Monday night. Wilson will coach UMHB’s cornerbacks as a defensive assistant.
He comes to Belton after one year at Paulding County High School, located about 30 miles west of Atlanta. He served as both the defensive backs coach and the recruiting coordinator, helping 18 seniors reach their dream of playing college football this past year. Paulding County posted a 6-5 record in the 2022 season.
A native of Dallas, Georgia, Wilson played his collegiate career at Berry College, a D-III program in the Southern Athletic Association. A defensive back for the Vikings, Wilson was a D3football.com All-Region selection in 2021 as a senior as well as a First Team All-SAA honoree. He played in 36 games over a four-year career, tallying 50 solo tackles, two interceptions, and three tackles for loss. Interestingly enough, during Wilson’s freshman year, Berry played UMHB in the NCAA playoffs, so there is a slight connection between Wilson and UMHB.
“I’m excited to join such a first class program,” Wilson told True To The Cru on Monday night. “As a Berry Football player, we played here in 2018 and I knew this was one of the best football programs in the country.”
