Ella Gamblin committed to UMHB prior to her senior season, as a standout pitcher at Celina High School. This past spring, the right-hander helped the Bobcats to a 17-7 record and Bi-District playoff win, earning Team MVP honors and First Team All-District accolades.
She signed with The Cru on November 9, 2022 after officially announcing her commitment on October 18. Notably, Gamblin tossed a no-hitter in the Bi-District round against Dallas Carter, sending Celina into the second round of the postseason. A pitcher with good location and an ability to mix pitches well, she will look to bring energy to Belton and have an impact on the program in years to come.
In this edition of “Catching up with the Commits”, Gamblin joins us to talk about what set UMHB apart in the recruiting process, how getting to be involved with Celina softball at an early age motivated her in her own softball career, and her strong senior season in 2023.
