Since his days as a standout quarterback for Killeen Ellison High School, Breezion Spiller has been well aware of the tradition built by the UMHB football program, and its relevance on the national stage.
But after earning consecutive District MVP honors, he headed to the D-I ranks, landing at Tarleton State for the 2020 season. He decided to step away from football following his freshman year, and ended up heading to Prairie View A&M for a short time before committing to UMHB on June 16, shortly after his official visit to campus.
Spiller took a winding road to his arrival in Belton, and has not been on a collegiate roster since that 2020 season. But he feels more ready than ever to make his mark on the gridiron. Increased weight training has allowed him more strength, and that aspect combined with his blistering speed makes for the ideal dual-threat quarterback.
The entire interview with Spiller is below, as part of our “Catching up with the Commits” interview series. Give it a listen and be sure to follow us wherever you find your podcasts, to be notified whenever we post a new interview or podcast episode.
