BELTON — In front of a home crowd for the second week in a row, UMHB battled Howard Payne through three quarters before pulling away from the Yellow Jackets en route to a 41-17 win on Saturday afternoon.
The Cru is now 2-1 in ASC play with three conference matchups – two of which will be played in Belton – still on tap. UMHB found success through the air, as quarterback Kirkland Michaux threw for 250 yards and 5 TDs, earning ASC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday. The Cru also got 14 tackles, 2.0 TFL, and an interception from safety Da’Marion Morris, who was named ASC Defensive Player of the Week.
