BELTON, Texas- The fans have spoken and KJ Miller is True To The Cru’s Special Teams Player of the Week, following UMHB football’s 41-0 rout of Belhaven last Saturday.

As the Cru’s primary punt and kick returner, Miller saw the field often on special teams in addition to his role as a starting wide receiver. The Blazers were forced to punt often, and the native of Orange, Texas, returned four of those punts for 63 yards. Belhaven only kicked the ball once- at the beginning of the second half- and Miller returned that kickoff for 21 yards, setting up the Cru with perfect field position on its own 44 yard line.

His speed and agility makes it hard for opponents to bring him down, and he looks to grow in his role as UMHB’s primary returner as this spring season progresses.

He also was quarterback Tommy Bowden’s primary target on offense, pulling in a team-high six passes for 29 yards.

Miller received just 20.8 percent of the Twitter vote, with Jefferson Fritz receiving 66.7 percent of the votes. However, that was only half of the total vote, with 147 fans voting for Miller on our website poll. No double-votes were counted.
