The 50-20 win over Hardin-Simmons was certainly the result of a collective effort from the entire UMHB roster. There were a few players in particular who seemed to lead the way, as UMHB gained its first lead in the second quarter and never looked back.

It is that time of the week when we select True To The Cru’s Football Players of the Week, which are presented this week by our gold sponsor, Duke Realty.

Each of these nominees is deserving of the honor of Player of the Week, as each stepped up in a big way on Saturday. But as we can only select one, be sure to cast your votes by Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. CT, after which this week’s honorees will be announced.

Photo Gallery: UMHB Football vs. UANL

In game uniform for the first time this fall, the UMHB football team’s junior varsity squad took to Crusader Stadium on Friday night, battling UANL Tigres, from Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Though UANL prevailed, the Crusaders made great strides in their first contest of the year against an outside opponent, and several freshmen stood out, such as running back Trace Holmes, from Sweeney, Texas, who had a number of spectacular rushing attempts, and Cameron Mitton, who was all over the field at a variety of positions. 

True To The Cru’s Luke Zayas was on the sidelines for the scrimmage, and covered all the action through his high-quality photos. Below is a collection of his field-level shots from Friday’s game.

Spring camp Film: Working on goal-line and short-yardage situations

BELTON, Texas-The UMHB football team has been hard at work early in January as the Cru get set to take on Belhaven in the season opener on February 6. Here is a look at the solid play of the Cru’s offensive and defensive fronts as well as the running backs, as the team focuses on goal-line and short-yardage situations.

BELTON, Texas- The UMHB football team made the trip back to Belton on Saturday afternoon, after claiming the Stagg Bowl title in a 57-24 victory over top-ranked North Central.

True To The Cru photographer Luke Zayas was on-site for the event, capturing all the action as the Crusaders returned home with the national championship trophy in hand.

Here are several of his photos, along with the video of head coach Pete Fredenburg’s speech at Cummins Fieldhouse.
