5 Crusaders named to D3football.com Region 3 All-Region Team

D3football.com released its All-Region teams on Wednesday morning, which featured five UMHB standouts, including a trio of First Team selections.

First Team Selections

Ethan Ruckman, also a First Team All-ASC honoree in his final season with UMHB, played in eight games with an overall grade of 95 percent. He recorded 15 knockdowns and 10 pancake blocks on the offensive line, also contributing to UMHB’s average of 139.1 rushing yards per game. It marks Ruckman’s third-straight season with All-Region honors.

Durand Hill, who entered 2023 as a D3football.com Preseason All-America selection, ranked third in the league in tackles, with 84. 44 of those were solo tackles, as the junior linebacker also tallied a pair of interceptions and two sacks for the Crusader defense. A native of Buda, Texas, Hill has now earned an All-Region selection in each of UMHB’s last two seasons.

Titus Dunk also represented the UMHB defense well on the list of honorees, as he recorded 39 tackles, with four going for negative yardage, as a senior. The Round Rock native and fifth-year senior also forced a fumble and contributed to a defense that allowed the fewest passing yards per game (154.3) in the ASC. A 2022 All-America selection, Dunk has now earned a spot on the All-Region Team in consecutive years.

Second Team Selection

Senior guard Jesse Hoke joined the trio on the All-Region Team, as he too, contributed well on the offensive line. A Second Team All-Region selection, Hoke recorded a 95 percent grade on the line in nine games. No penalties were called against him as he tallied 11 knockdowns and six pancake blocks, leading UMHB’s strong effort in the trenches. It marks Hoke’s first All-Region honor of his collegiate career.

Third Team Selection

Defensive end Myles Terry rounded out the five All-Region honorees with his selection to the Region 3 Third Team. Terry’s 12.5 tackles for loss not only led the team, but also ranked second in the conference, making him one of the ASC’s top pass rushers. A sophomore, he also tallied 6.5 sacks during the 2023 campaign. Like Hoke, it is the first All-Region selection of his time at the college level.
