HSU announces 2024 football schedule, Includes dates for both meetings between UMHB and Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, Texas–Hardin-Simmons released its 2024 football schedule on Tuesday afternoon, which includes the dates of both matchups against Mary Hardin-Baylor on the 10-game fall slate, and marks the first known dates of the upcoming schedule for UMHB. 

In 2024, The Cru hosts HSU on Oct. 12 in Belton, marking the first time since 2021 that the Crusaders have welcomed the Cowboys to Crusader Stadium. On Nov. 9, in the second-to-last week of the regular season, UMHB makes the trip to Abilene, facing HSU at Shelton Stadium. 

As was previously reported, the American Southwest Conference has opted for a double round-robin conference schedule in 2024, considering just four football programs—Hardin-Simmons, UMHB, Howard Payne, and ETBU—remain in the league. This means each ASC team will play its other three league opponents twice during the regular season, once at home and once on the road. The conference slate was approved last week.

UMHB comes off a 6-4 campaign in 2023 in which the Crusaders finished second in the ASC standings.
