The non-conference matchups between longtime D-III powers Mary Hardin-Baylor and UW-Whitewater on the gridiron will continue for a third straight season, as The Cru is set to make a trip north on Sept. 21 as part of the 2024 slate.
The announcement of the non-conference duel came on Thursday evening, as the Warhawks’ 2024 schedule was released. A kickoff time for that game has not yet been announced.
Notably, UMHB and UWW have squared off every year since 2018, minus the abbreviated spring season in 2021. They met in the playoffs three straight times, with UMHB most recently taking down the Warhawks, 24-7, in a national semifinal in 2021. Though the programs did not face off in the postseason in 2022 or 2023, they played as part of a home-and-home non-conference arrangement. On Sept. 10, 2022, UMHB fell in a narrow 28-24 defeat in Whitewater, and on Sept. 16, 2023, the Warhawks won in The Cru’s home opener in Belton, 17-14.
When they match up this fall, it will mark the third time in the last four meetings that the contest has been played at Perkins Stadium on Whitewater’s campus. UMHB is 1-3 against the Warhawks on the road.
Additionally, UMHB’s ASC matchups against ETBU were also released with the announcement of the Tigers’ complete 2024 slate on Wednesday evening. The Cru will host ETBU on Oct. 5 in Belton before making the trip to Marshall on Nov. 2. UMHB is 21-1 all-time against ETBU, with 18 consecutive wins over the Tigers.
With these recent announcements, five of The Cru’s 10 regular season game dates are already noted, with three non-conference games as well as two meetings with Howard Payne still to be announced.
