UMHB WR Cal Robinson out for the remainder of 2022 due to injury

BELTON- UMHB wide receiver Cal Robinson is out for the remainder of the 2022 season, after suffering multiple injuries at a practice earlier in the week.

According to the UMHB athletics department, Robinson had surgery earlier in the week, and is now beginning the recovery process. He suffered a broken fibula, torn ankle ligaments, and a dislocated ankle.

A freshman from Arlington, Texas, Robinson transferred to UMHB prior to the spring semester from Oklahoma Baptist University, where he spent the 2021 season. He was on the varsity roster for the Cru through the first two weeks of the season, wearing No. 19.

On Thursday afternoon, Robinson put out the following message on Twitter:

“September 13 2022. Tragedy struck. I question you God, but I trust your process. I believe everything happens for a reason, but when something like this happens, you question that thought process. These past days have been some of the toughest of my life, I’ve never been in More pain in my life. What I’ve taken away so far from my injury is that I am loved. The people who have reached out to me and continue to do so have been so helpful in ways that they’ll never know. My journey has just begun, but I’m ready to conquer it and get back on that field. With my teammates again and go win a National Championship.

“Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, therefore your Lord God will be with you wherever you go”.

Additionally, UMHB wide receiver Romello Cook is not on this week’s varsity roster once again, due to a thumb injury.
